A new study has revealed that three-quarters of Brits are planning to give more outdoor activities a go the coming months
A recent study has revealed that three-quarters of Brits are planning to pursue outdoor activities in the coming months, driven by a desire to stay fit and reconnect with nature.
The research, commissioned by Jeep UK makers of the Avenger Electric vehicle highlights some of the top 40 outdoor activities Brits are eager to try.
These include unique pursuits such as foraging, stargazing, and beachcombing, alongside wildlife-themed activities like fishing, horseback riding, and swimming in natural pools.
Kristian Cholmondley, Managing Director of Keep UK, commented on the findings, saying the results reflect “our fundamental need to escape the digital world and embrace the physical world around us.”
The study underlines the growing popularity of nature-oriented activities, with eight in ten Brits expressing particular interest in outdoor pastimes that allow them to engage with the natural world.
Examples include rockhounding (collecting rocks, minerals, and fossils), nature journaling, and wildlife photography.

Positively the data shows that the average Brit spends more than five hours a week outside for leisure.
However, getting outdoors for these pursuits is not without its challenges.Limited time as well as a lack of confidence were listed as some of the primary obstacles. But the cost of travel was also a barrier.
Given many of these activities take place in more secluded or rural areas, accessible and suitable travel was key for many.
When it comes to choosing a vehicle for outdoor exploration, Brits prioritise reliability, comfort, and safety above all else.
“Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a spontaneous outdoor adventure, the need for accessible, dependable transportation is at an all-time high,” Kristian stressed.
